What we value: A Sense of Wonder
I interpret this as a sense that is outside the realm of reason, that makes one feel a sense of wonder towards various things in the world, not just nature and the mysterious.
Stop and think about the wonders that you normally don't think about, and discover that things that you have always taken for granted and never paid any attention to are in fact not so obvious at all. Thinking about it again, I felt that I had such an experience at Hiraodai. I would like to develop a sense and sensitivity to the "sense of wonder" that is difficult to explain logically, and to cherish the various environments that surround us, and I would like to carry out my activities based on this desire. For more details, please read Rachel Carson's "A Sense of Wonder" to understand the worldview.
What do you do?
We value the idea of ecotourism (environmental conservation, regional development, and tourism promotion), and from the perspective of Hiraodai residents, we mainly carry out the following activities. If any of these interests you, we would be delighted if you would join us.

Hiraodai Trail Work Club
Hiraodai is currently littered with garbage and household waste generated during the postwar mountain climbing boom, and new garbage continues to accumulate. We are working irregularly, mainly on mountain trails, so that Hiraodai, where we live, will one day become a clean place without a single piece of garbage. We would like to gradually expand the circle of the community, and would appreciate your cooperation if there are people who agree with our activities. Please contact us via the Contact page .
