Where the history of the Earth and mankind intersect

Hiraodai Quasi-National Park: 340 million years of history

Hiraodai is one of Japan's leading karst plateaus, located in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, with an elevation of 400-700m, stretching 2km east to west and 6km north to south. This place shows us different faces throughout the four seasons, and is home to a rich natural environment where many plants and animals can be observed.

Our Vision / Why do we guide?

I started guiding because I wanted to leave this land to the next generation, by establishing a tourism business that preserves the natural environment without development, while telling stories of Hiraodai's history and culture through the filter of the outdoors. I want to provide a memorable experience for each person, and also provide guided tours that convey the charm of Hiraodai and make people want to know more about it. However, I also want to share the time with everyone who participates, while conveying the pure joy of outdoor activities. Hiraodai is not just a place to walk around with beautiful scenery, but we will do our best to support you in discovering new charms of Hiraodai through our guided tours.
Therefore, the guided tours we conduct are not simply observation sessions to gather information, nor are they simply route-based tours where you follow a guide.

About the guided tour

The guided tours we offer include trekking guides for those who want to start mountain climbing or get to know Hiraodai more deeply, as well as caving (cave exploration) to explore the mysterious world of underground limestone caves, and various other outdoor tours such as stream climbing, which is perfect for summer, and sea kayaking, which takes you away from Hiraodai. We will support your outdoor life to the fullest so that you can enjoy a comfortable mountain walk and a more active experience. We will ask you about the dates, courses, and what kind of outdoor activities you would like to enjoy, and we will also propose private tours, as well as plan tours and events for small children and those who do not usually walk much.

Highlights of our guided tours

Guided tours by local residents who are familiar with Hiraodai
We offer various ways to enjoy Hiraodai from a resident's perspective, and we will suggest courses and activities that suit your physical ability and interests, rather than just walking set routes.
■ We will keep your happy memories
In addition to taking commemorative photos, we will also take videos while guiding you. This will ensure that you have a good memory of your fun time at Hiraodai. All the footage will be provided to you.
■ Held with a small number of participants
There is no need to worry about having to keep up with large tour groups. The guide will provide you with a private, high-class guided tour that is tailored to your physical condition and other needs.
■Women alone can participate with peace of mind.

We have female guides so women can participate without worry.
