Hiraodai was once a training path for mountain ascetics (yamabushi). This tour walks along the mountain ascetic trail that connects Hiraodai and Tokakuji, a village established by the descendants of mountain ascetics. Why not feel the ancient history while the guide tells you about it? You can also stop by the Tenku Cafe at Tokakuji for lunch. Meals will be charged separately.

At the southern end of Hiraodai, there is a forest spreading out to the south of "Camel Mountain." This tour begins by walking through the grassland and then through a cedar forest.
This is a guided tour to the "Seven Forests" made up of giant trees that are hundreds of years old. Why not take a leisurely walk while enjoying the panoramic view of Hiraodai, and then have a leisurely cup of coffee in the Seven Forests, which look like they came out of a Ghibli movie?

A hidden gem in Hiraodai! Just beyond the few forests is an observation spot with a panoramic view of Kitakyushu!
We will walk through the primeval forest at the northernmost part of Hiraodai. Although it is Hiraodai, it is not a grassland area, which is why it is called a hidden area. There used to be a mountain castle in this area. We will talk about that history as we walk.

This is a guided tour to the highest peak of Hiraodai (712m), Mt. Nukiyama.
We will walk slowly while talking about the differences between limestone and non-limestone. From the summit, you can look down on Kitakyushu Airport, Kanda Town, and Yukuhashi City, and depending on the weather, you can see all the way to the Kunisaki Peninsula, Shikoku, and Oita Prefecture!

As the name suggests, it was named "Crystal Mountain" because a lot of crystals were mined here long ago. Traces of crystal processing have been found at the base of the mountain.
This course aims for Mt. Suisho, a little-known spot located in the northeast of Hiraodai. You can see Yukuhashi city, Kanda town, Oita in the distance, and Mt. Yufu. Why are there crystals there? We will explain this as we guide you.

This is a recommended trail that offers one of the best panoramic views in Hiraodai! You will feel as if you are walking while looking down from the sky at the cityscape that spreads out below you. From the rest spots along the way, you can see faraway views such as Mt. Yufu and Shikoku, and you can also see paragliders taking off up close!

The limestone rocks standing in the grassland look like a flock of sheep, so it is called "Yogunbaru (Sheep Flock Field)". You can enjoy a short traverse and get a panoramic view of the entire area from the northernmost part of Hiraodai. On the way there, you can walk a little-known course and see relics from the pioneering days!

The Hiraodai Trail Running Race is produced by Hiroki Ishikawa. A guide will lead you on the short course of about 17km. Along the way, we will talk about the origins of Hiraodai and the history of each place, so it is recommended for those who want to enjoy Hiraodai all day!
